The inspector General Of Police IGP Suleiman Abba has reassured the Public and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation that the Nigeria Police will continue to give maximum protection to Oil facilities in the Nation.
IGP Suleiman Abba said this when the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Dr. Joseph Dawah along with two Group Executive Directors paid an official visit to the Inspector-General of Police to congratulate him on his new appointment.
In a statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Emmanuel Ojukwu, The IGP said that the Force will also see to the protection of NNPC personnel as well as explore modern techniques of surveillance in protecting National infrastructure nationwide.
Speaking Earlier The Group Managing Director thanked the NPF for maintaining the age-long collaborative relationship that has existed between the Police and the NNPC.
While noting that peace and security are essential ingredients for socio-economic growth and prosperity of any nation, Dr. Dawah sought for more assistance and supports from the Police especially in the areas of pipeline security, theft of crude oil and refined products as well as executive protection for the top management staff of the NNPC.
