A member of the main opposition political
party in Nigeria, All Progressive Congress, Femi Fani Kayode has a advised President Goodluck Jonathan not to contest the forthcoming presidential election scheduled for 2015.
Fani Kayode who was former minister of aviation gave the advise in an exclusive interview on Ben Television adding that President Jonathan will be giving the ruling party and Nigerians relief by not participating in the forthcoming presidential election.
In his word “Jonathan should go home to his home town and leave Nigeria alone ,he will make many people happy within the PDP if he did not contest. There are many people within his own party that are not happy but they cannot speak out but the time will come when they will speak out and there are many people within his own faction that are not happy but agreed with everything Obasanjo wrote in that letter but they cannot speak out publicly and literally so worry about what will happen in this country in post 2015 if he come back”.
“We are talking about the very future of this country, let me speak for myself if Jonathan come back , Within the next two years Nigeria will be like Zaire that is dividing country, difference fractions people killing one another, where there is no rule of law , some disaster and intimidation and that is not our portion we don’t want that by God grace it will never get to that point”.
He alleged that Nigerians has been divided along ethnicity and religion lines under President Jonathan administration in the last three years.
“If you look at the fact the economy statistic and security situation you will discovered that we are on the road to Kigali and may God forbid that to happen never in the history of our country have we being so divided with the song of ethnicity and religion it has never been this bad, expect for perhaps when we went into civil war and we don’t want a civil war”.
Speaking on the strength of the opposition he explained that the progressive has a formidable stakeholders that can take on the ruling party in the next general election.
“Everybody have come together now to forge a formidable front to take on this government for its exceptionally incompetent and exceptionally weak government that has no sense of decency and any sense of direction any right think persons would be part of that. you have also see people like Obasanjo and others have step back from the PDP and fighting from ,within because there must be change ” he said.
“We are very serious people we are committed to this course and I think the evident of that nobody could believe that Buhari , Tinubu Obasanjo even including Atiku could all seem to be saying no and continue to consult and try to forge united front, try to ensure that we make a change in the country in 2015”.
The former minister of aviation stated that All Progressive Congress is resolute to effect change in the style of governance come 2015 pointing out that the rising profile of the progressive is an indication that something good is about to happen to the country.
“I think is a really wonderful thing , something that very few people could have imagine can happen far back as six months or year ago such desire to bring change to Nigeria is absolutely genuine because if the Nigerian ship of state snick all of us were in trouble if Nigeria breaks up in civil war all of us are in trouble, if the country continue to be running in the way it was runs in the last three years all of us are in trouble there must be change”.
He also said that All Progressive Congress will come out with Presidential candidate that will be acceptable to all Nigerians in 2015 presidential election.
